When did you become an Nsync Fan?: in 1998. Geez, forever ago. I'm so old! Do you know Nsync?: Nope. I did meet them once, though! (we were creepy stalker fans when we were 16.) Believe it or not, I actually became a fan on the day that I met them. My best friend dragged me along to a meet and greet and I went home a fan! Who is your favorite Nsync member?: In 1998 it was Lance. 1999, Chris. 2000 and on, it turned to Justin and JC. If you look at the dates on my fics and then the main characters, you can kinda tell... lol. I don't really have one now. I feel more connected to the characters I wrote than the actual people. I feel comfortable writing all the guys as leads except Joey. And I think Lance makes a better secondary character. What is your favorite Nsync song?: It's a toss up between "It's Gonna Be Me" and "I Drive Myself Crazy". What is your favorite story that you wrote?: Hmm, that's really hard to say. The characters in Paying the Consequences are dear to me, but one of the oldest ones I wrote, When I Close My Eyes holds something about me that no one really knows. And then Almost A Memory Now really captures a pain that I was going through when I wrote that book at age 18.... and Not A Day Goes By relates to one of the things most dear to me. Father/Daughter relationships. Then again, NOTHING makes me laugh like A Chance. That story is just completely messed up! Where did you learn to write?: I've been writing fiction since I knew how to physically write. I wrote my first fanfic in the third grade, it was a Tiny Toons fic where Buster ran away from home. haha. After that, I mostly wrote original fiction in grade school that I never finished. Before my freshmen year of highschool, I wrote a relatively long Murder/Mystery story. I didn't write much for a while besides personal stuff, and then in the 10th grade I started writing Nsync Fanfiction. My first Nsync fanfic was called "Forever Young" and was about me and my friends Meeting Nsync after a concert. It really sucked and I don't even think I have it on file anymore. The next story I wrote was Not That Different which is okay, but still kinda sucks. After that, I wrote more and more. I became a recognized "author" at school. All of my friends would pass around my stories during class and read them, then beg me for more. It was a lot of fun. Where can I learn to write?: You can take writing classes in highschool or college... but the best thing to do is PRACTICE. It's the same for drawing. Find a few authors you like, and notice how they write and what works (or doesn't). Use what things DO work, and just keep writing and writing and writing. Don't worry about writing dumb stuff. Don't worry if it's pointless. It's all practice. And finally, DO NOT WRITE FOR OTHERS. Write ONLY for yourself. At least in the beginning. I found this is the best way to write with no fear. Of course I've never shown half of the things I've written only for me to anyone, but sometimes it's nice to have things that are for your eyes only. (Oh, and never write in present tense unless you want to cause me to die. Thanks) How do you create your characters?: Most of my main characters are a part of me. None of them are ALL of me, only parts. I take certain things about myself that I know well, and I exagerate them. An example of this is Justin in Paying the Consequences. He's really nothing like me, but a big part of him is something small that I have a habit of doing; compulsive organization of random things. Only Justin is a clean freak and organizes EVERYTHING IN SIGHT. See what I mean? Another way to create a character is to take something you're afraid of, or something that causes conflict, and base the character around that fear. This is more plot-based writing, but it works in some cases. AND... always give your character quirks! Something weird that is unique to just that character. (maybe one of your friends has a silly habit, or you do a silly gesture when you get excited. That kind of thing. It's okay to steal traits from your friends, too ;) Can I use your story for _____?: Um... no. You're an artist too!?: I am! Check out my art here: Lori's DeviantArt Site Where did you learn to make websites? Will you make one for me? Will you help me with mine?: I didn't. I only know SIMPLE HTML. All layout stuff on this site and my other sites was done by my friend Anie at netbelle.com. So please don't ask me to help, because I seriously don't know how! |
